The Top Ten Horror Movies Ever Made

If you are a horror movie lover, you may want to know the top ten horror movies ever made. It is hard to compile a list of the top ten horror movies as there have been so many good ones, but these are definitely the top picks.

Hellraiser comes in at number ten. This movie is definitely a shocker and has many parts that make you jump out of your seat. This movie is definitely not for the squeamish, but if you like horror movies you will love this one.

In at number nine is The Evil Dead. Although there are some comedic parts in this movie, it is definitely a horror flick. There is a lot of decapitation and dismemberment in this movie. Again, if you have a weak stomach this may not be the best movie for you to watch. There is a lot of blood and gore and it is truly the ultimate in grossness.

At number eight is Dawn of the Dead. There is actually the original which was made in 1978 and then the remake, both which are incredible scary. The original will always be a classic and was super scary and gross.

Freddy Krueger always has to make the list on any top horror movie ranking. A Nightmare on Elm Street is pretty much the scariest Krueger movie to date and makes this list at number seven. There were a ton of sequels after this movie but as with most horror movies, the original still takes the cake. Krueger's gruesome personality and nail slashing killings make this movie gory and terrifying.

For number six it is The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Another horror flick that had a recent remake, this movie well deserves its place on the list. The ultimate in grindhouse entertainment, this flick is known by pretty well everyone by the crazy chainsaw carrying criminal living in Texas.

Sigourney Weaver made the number five movie a top pick-Alien. This movie can't get much grosser, with aliens popping out of people's stomachs. The special effects and the sets in this movie are divine and really make it worth the watch. The movie is about a crew who flies a ship and ends up having an alien come onboard. Again, there are many sequels to this movie but these sequels actually aren't all that bad. The recent Alien Vs Predator is one of the latest sequels and is definitely worth seeing.

Coming in at number four is Halloween and this movie was hard just to put at number four. It is terrifying in every sense of the word and after you watch it you will be looking around you wherever you go thinking you see Michael Myer's creepy white masked face.

The Thing is number three, and considering this thing can do anything from grow spider legs and stretch its head it is pretty obvious why it makes this list.

In second place it is Videodrome which really gives you the shivers when you watch it. Created by David Cronenberg, the genius behind Shivers, The Brood and Scanners.

Jack Nicholson makes The Shining number one, with his brilliant acting as a lunatic.
